Mr Chang Yoke Foong’s wish was to witness his beloved daughter’s tea ceremony, and it was filled with unity and love.
With just five days to prepare, family and friends came together to make the special occasion possible. Their Hougang flat was soon filled with wedding touches, laughter, and anticipation. Mr Chang enjoyed his favourite siew mai and relished a comforting bowl of Ipoh curry hor fun. Cherished family photographs lined the walls, capturing a lifetime of memories.
When Monday afternoon arrived, the celebration unfolded beautifully. The bride looked radiant as she served tea to her elders, surrounded by relatives and friends. Some had travelled from afar just to be there for the occasion. Throughout it all, the groom remained steadfast by his bride’s side, supporting her through every emotional moment while helping to bring every detail together. When Mr Chang surprised his wife with a bouquet of white lilies, her smile lit up the room. It was a moment to cherish.
This wish was referred by MSW Jolyn Tan from Sengkang General Hospital. AWS volunteers Lionel Wong Liang Bin, Kelvina Guo, and Lee Seok Yee were honoured to help make this meaningful day possible. Heartfelt thanks also go to May for makeup artistry and Alfred for hairdressing.
Before the day ended, Amby the AWS teddy bear was gifted to Mr Chang, a small reminder of the day’s warmth, love, and happiness.
