When nearly 40 family members gathered to celebrate Mdm Zulaimah Binti Mohamed Hashim’s 85th birthday, something magical happened. For the first time in years, her entire extended family came together under one roof, creating a beautiful tapestry of generations.

As relatives arrived, the venue quickly filled with laughter, warmth, and reconnection. Volunteers Nurhuda Mohd Nor, Sri Hayati Ali, Norfida Binte Alias, Karen Wong Nyuk Ching, and Kenny Wang crafted a celebration that spoke directly to her heart. She was served her favourite fried kway teow and presented with pulut kuning as one of her birthday cakes — a meaningful traditional touch. The volunteers also surprised her with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a tudung, and an Ambulance Wish Singapore bear.

The celebration reached new heights when her granddaughter led karaoke sessions and quiz games. Three generations participated together, from giggling little ones to fiercely competitive adults, while Mdm Zulaimah clapped along with pure joy.

Despite her health challenges, she remains the radiant centre of this family constellation, surrounded by the flavours, sounds, and moments that made the celebration uniquely hers — a testament to the unbreakable bonds of family love.
