Love, Laughter, and Birds in Flight: Mdm Chow’s Wish

For Mdm Chow Moy Lee, who is bravely battling ovarian cancer, her wish was to spend time with her family. It had been 50 years since she last visited the old Jurong Bird Park, and she longed to return with her husband, children, and grandchildren by her side.

On 21 June 2025, Mdm Chow’s wish came true with the dedication of our volunteers Darran Lim Wei-Lun, Peh Jia Ni, Brenda Tan, Lim Wen Ling, and Elaine Chin. We spent the morning at Mandai Bird Paradise, guided by four friendly guides who brought the experience to life. Mdm Chow’s family had a wonderful time feeding birds, laughing, and creating new memories. Seeing the usually soft-spoken Mdm Chow smiling throughout was the most precious thing.

In the afternoon, the family checked into Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree, where Mdm Chow was greeted by a pleasant surprise. Her room had been beautifully decorated with balloons by Give Fun, cherished family photographs, and a bouquet of red roses and blue hydrangeas by Hello Flowers! SG, thoughtfully chosen in her favourite colours. The evening ended with a cosy family dinner at Planter’s Shed.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make this day possible. Every small gesture, thoughtful detail, and shared moment served as a reminder to Mdm Chow that she was surrounded by what matters most: love.
