In late November 2025, Ambulance Wish Singapore received a heartfelt wish request for Mr Glenn Silva. A devoted husband and a loving father of three, Glenn was a gentle soul who dreamed simply of spending his first Christmas in Singapore with the people he cherished most: his wife, Madeliene, and their children aged 6, 7, and 14.

A Hospital Ward Transformed: Bringing Christmas to Glenn
On 3 December 2025, with the tireless dedication of our volunteers Genevieve, Cynthia, and Lillian, we brought Christmas to Glenn ahead of the season. His hospital ward was transformed into a warm, glowing haven (filled with twinkling lights, festive decorations, and the infectious joy of the holidays).

To bring a touch of home to the celebration, Jollibee meals were served, which brought smiles to the entire family. Gifts were specially prepared for each child, for Madeliene, for Glenn’s mother-in-law, his sister, and for Glenn himself. While the decorations were beautiful, what truly shone brightest that day was the character and spirit of the man at the heart of the celebration.

A Husband’s Love and a Father’s Strength
To Madeliene, Glenn was a husband who loved with deep intention. He was known for caring for her in quiet, everyday ways that spoke louder than grand gestures (such as preparing her uniforms for work or assisting her whenever she cooked). Madeliene shared that he had always treated her “like a Queen.”
As a father, Glenn balanced firmness with fun. He was the kind of father who taught with discipline yet always made room for laughter. His happiest moments were always the simplest: taking strolls, exploring corners of the Philippines, enjoying staycations, and going on “food trips” with his three children. His passions for music, playing instruments, and his love for travelling (especially his fondness for the winter snow in Jeju Island) painted a picture of a man who found beauty in the world.
A Pillar of Faith and Togetherness
To his family, Glenn was a faithful husband and Madeliene’s first and greatest love. He remained the unwavering pillar she leant on and her lasting tower of strength.
On that special December evening, surrounded by his wife and children, Glenn’s Christmas wish came true. For everyone at Ambulance Wish Singapore, it was a profound honour to witness a celebration that focused not on illness, but on love, family, and the quiet beauty of togetherness.
