It was a sunny afternoon as we welcomed Mdm Rashidah and her family to the Republic Singapore Yacht Club. Mdm Rashidah had a wish that was close to her heart: a staycation with her immediate and extended family, enjoying a dinner together with a beautiful sea view, followed by her favourite hobby – offshore fishing the next day.

A Husband’s Devotion and The Perfect Catch
The Republic Singapore Yacht Club provided the ideal location for this gathering. After a lovely dinner, the family captured many photos together against the backdrop of a magnificent sunset and a marina filled with yachts. It was a cherished moment for many to see the family united in such a scenic setting.

In preparation for the fishing trip, Mdm Rashidah’s husband, Mr Zaki, had a special surprise. He presented her with an electric reel, a thoughtful gift designed to help her reel in the big fishes as fast and as effortlessly as possible. Good weather and a calm sea meant that everyone enjoyed the offshore fishing trip the next day, and the fishes caught were, of course, a welcomed bonus.

This wish was made possible by the exceptional hospitality of the team at Republic Singapore Yacht Club (RSYC). Special thanks go to the General Manager of RSYC, Dr Rashid, who personally responded to our enquiries and provided generous support.
We were also touched that the RSYC Honorary Secretary, Mr Nigel Ho, came to greet the AWS volunteers personally in the lobby. The hospitality and great service extended by The Wharf cafe staff, at the direction of RSYC Commodore Mr Balakrishnan, meant everything to us and to Mdm Rashidah.
The celebration was made extra special with a beautiful bouquet sponsored by Hibiscus Florists for Mr Zaki to present to his wife, and a delicious cake sponsored by Lele Bakery.
