As we look back on years gone by, we are reminded that a fresh start often begins with the celebration of our most fond memories. On 31 July 2025, Mr Poh, 74, shared a wish that was as beautiful as it was sentimental. He hoped to recreate the magic of his wedding day, surrounded by the vibrant colours and fragrance of flowers (reminiscent of Chinese Garden, where he and his wife were first married).

A Day of Preparation and Kinship
To bring this floral vision to life, our dedicated Ambulance Wish Singapore (AWS) volunteers, Carmen, Ice, Jocelyn, Swee Qin, Wee Nie, and Niwen coordinated an afternoon filled with care. The journey began with a professional make-up session for the couple, provided by our generous partner May, ensuring they felt as special as they did on their wedding day decades ago. This was followed by a heartwarming communal lunch, allowing the family to gather in a spirit of togetherness.

Recreating the Magic Amongst the Blooms
The celebration continued at the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay, a setting that provided the perfect floral backdrop for Mr Poh’s wish. Accompanied by his wife, his children and their spouses, his sister-in-law and her husband, and special guests Mr and Mrs Yeo, Mr Poh explored the lush landscapes. The atmosphere was filled with the joy of kinship and the quiet beauty of a promise kept.
The highlight of the outing was a moment of profound symbolism. Our partner florist, Ruth from Blessed Blooms, delivered a specially crafted bouquet to Mr and Mrs Poh. This arrangement was a thoughtful re-enactment of their original wedding bouquet, serving as a fragrant bridge between their past and their present.
For Mr Poh, the desire to recreate his wedding amongst the flowers was transformed into a new, meaningful moment with his beloved family. Every smile and shared look was captured in time by our photographer, Kzen.
