“Life is the flower for which love is the honey”

For Mr Lim Wee Loon and his family, their love for one another was expertly captured among the splendour of flowers at Gardens by the Bay. On 10 December 2024, Mr Lim visited the attraction, accompanied by his mother, his girlfriend and his uncle.

At the start of the visit, under one of the iconic Supertrees, they were each presented with a sweater. The colours of the apparel were specially selected for the individuals. The sweaters were also adorned with crocheted brooches that were created by Jo-Ann, our Lead Wish Granter.

On behalf of Mr Lim, AWS additionally prepared two other gifts (a walking stick and a bouquet of hydrangeas) for the most important woman in his life, i.e., his mother. He is her only child. Their sentiments about this last outing were palpable and heart-rending.

Though Mr Lim was physically weak, he still used whatever strength that he could garner to make mischievous poses. While watching his antics, his mother commented that it was simply a demonstration of his natural playfulness.

Though the visit was short (only an hour in duration), the family’s emotional moments among the blooms will last a long time for sweet recollection. Like Victor Hugo had said, love in life is like the honey of flower.
