Mdm Samsiah’s dream was to celebrate her 72nd birthday surrounded by her expansive family. This massive undertaking is a shining example of wish granting: transforming a heartfelt desire for togetherness into a spectacular, joyful celebration of life.
The event brought together 95 family members for a heartwarming gathering at D’Resort, featuring a bespoke three-tier chocolate cake, a carefully curated buffet, and vibrant yellow decorations throughout the venue. The celebration was meticulously planned and executed by Ambulance Wish Singapore (AWS) volunteers Jade, Richard, Sork Hoon, and Carol, with the help of countless generous individuals and partners who donated their time, resources, and talents to create this memorable wish experience.
A Seamless and Meaningful Celebration
The day commenced with the event space beautifully arranged thanks to the generous support of Char Char Event Co. Richard facilitated the staycation check-ins and the delivery of a custom three-tiered cake, sponsored by Awfully Chocolate Singapore. Jade enlisted her friend Edric to provide transportation for Mdm Samsiah, ensuring cost efficiency. Sork Hoon lent her floral expertise, crafting stunning arrangements that enhanced the venue’s cheerful ambiance.
Guests arrived dressed in sunny yellow hues, greeting Mdm Samsiah with warm embraces and capturing cherished moments against a festive balloon and tinsel backdrop. As everyone enjoyed a delectable buffet sponsored by Rainforest Cafe, Mdm Samsiah was wheeled between tables to personally connect with each attendee.
Touching Tributes and Emotional Moments
Emcee Ernest guided the programme into a heartfelt segment where Mdm Samsiah’s husband shared a moving speech of gratitude before emotions overcame him. Their son-in-law graciously stepped in, expressing thanks to Mdm Samsiah, the guests, and the supportive teams from Singapore Cancer Society and AWS. He then led a touching prayer for his mother-in-law.
The celebration took an even more poignant turn as Mdm Samsiah’s youngest daughter performed a heartfelt song dedication, moving both mother and daughter to tears. A prerecorded audio message from renowned personality Rahimah Rahim, who admires Mdm Samsiah, added another layer of warmth to the event.
The festivities concluded with a spirited birthday song and cake-cutting ceremony. Special appreciation goes to Gabriel Aiden Photo for volunteering photography services and Downtown East for accommodating the event and staycation rooms. The dedication shown by everyone involved truly created a lasting legacy of love and unity through this wish granting experience.
