Mdm Lim wished to see her elder sister while she still could and take a family photograph together.

However, her rapidly deteriorating condition made it impossible for her to leave the hospital to visit her sister, who resides in a nursing home.

Determined to make this reunion happen, our team of volunteers sprang into action. With the unwavering support of ward nurses from both the hospital and the nursing home, and the assistance of both sisters’ husbands, the reunion was coordinated in record time.

When we learned that Mdm Lim’s favourite colour was purple, we knew it had to be part of this special occasion. Our volunteers dressed the sisters in matching lilac outfits, adorned them with bright magenta flower garlands, prepared bouquets of amethyst-hued flowers from Hello Flowers! Singapore, and filled the ward with violet balloons to bring warmth and lightness to the space. They even helped Mdm Lim with a very light touch-up for the moment.

Billy Mok generously offered his photography skills pro bono, capturing the sisters’ deeply emotional reunion and their bright smiles.

Behind the quiet hospital walls, another wish was fulfilled—and the love between two sisters was beautifully honoured.
